Alright here's some new OCs plus a bonus one that conceptualized as I was writing these out whoops (and I'm gonna tag @daughter-of-melpomene since Dolly knew about a little about Aimee and gave me literally all 4 FCs for the 911/911 Lone Star ocs)

Aimee Grimard (Charithra Chandran FC), Gabriella Lang ship. Known as Elisabeth Barbot in the Enchanted Forest, her father was a merchant that angered the Evil Queen and her home was burned down and his ship was lost at seat. They had to move to the countryside and work on a farm, where she explored in the woods and found a deserted castle where she met Suzanna. In Storybrooke, she lives and works on the docks, helps out at Granny's and does storytime sometimes for Mary Margaret. When the curse is broken, she remembers Gabriella but Gabriella doesn't remember her

Rowan Buckley (Jake Borelli FC), Josh Russo ship. A cousin to Maddie born a year after Daniel, he also wasn't a bone marrow match. So when his parents died and his aunt and uncle took him in just after Daniel passed, he was also sworn to secrecy to never talk about him. He and Buck weren't very close when they were young as their parents focused more on Rowan as the replacement son for Daniel and Rowan was always very unsure how to be around his cousin, Maddie was pretty much their in between. When he was 18, he left home to go to college for pre-med (inspired by everything that happened with Daniel) and moved to Los Angeles, only really talking to his parents and occasionally Maddie until those talks stopped too. Then when he transfers hospitals, he meets Firefighter Buckley for the first time in years.

Kaeden Duan (Harry Shum Jr. FC), Evan Buckley & Eddie Diaz ship. Born and raised in San Francisco, he spent most of his childhood raising his little sister since their parents weren't around like, at all. She lived with him as soon as he was 18 though he was training to be an EMT at the time. Then Alyssa got into college in LA and he moved with her, which leads to him meeting the 118

9-1-1: Lone Star

Mariana Diaz (Jaina Lee Ortiz FC), Marjan Marwani ship. Though her brother Eddie was always her hero and she missed him while he was in Afghanistan, she knew he was having problems. Especially after Shannon left him and Christopher. So, she encouraged him to leave Texas. Screw their parents. And Mariana, she threw herself into her work after that. Fighting fires, that's what she was good at. And then Owen Strand calls her. Her captain knew him and when he was looking to rebuild the 126, he recommended her transfer. So she accepted.

Melody Lau (Melissa O'Neil FC), Paul Strickland ship. Ever since she was young, Melody knew she wanted to help people. But her family couldn't afford to send her to college so, she looked to the police academy. She passed with flying colors, her only issue was getting employment. Melody started applying anywhere she could, and Austin was the only one that accepted with enough time for her to move. She quickly became friends with Carlos Reyes, and soon meets the 126

The Bright Sessions

Lucas Bramwell (Cody Christian FC), Caleb Michaels ship. A Class B, Level 6 Atypical, he has the ability to control plants. He's been with Dr. Bright for about six months now after being recommended by Agent Green, he does go to school with Caleb but neither have realized the other is an atypical or a patient of Dr. Bright's as he typically stays away from sports and they only share a couple of classes. After he meets Chloe when he's touring her college, he slowly gets more involved in what the AM is really doing and with Caleb

Aurora Decker (Danielle Campbell FC), Samantha Barnes & Mark Bryant ship. A Class C, Level 8 Atypical, she has the ability to turn invisible. She's a recent patient of Dr. Bright's after she saw her ad, Aurora has always had a hard time controlling her ability which has caused her to have problems in her job. She meets Sam with Dr. Bright's plan to sneak into the AM and they grow closer while on the road trip to look for Mark.

Billie Foster (Alexandra Daddario FC), Robert Gorham Damien ship. A Class A, Level 5 Atypical, she has the ability of clairvoyance. An older patient of Dr. Bright's, she's helped her get her level down a lot and while Billie probably could get away with stopping her sessions, she's almost afraid to for reasons she doesn't say. She meets Damien when he's waiting around after her session to see Dr. Bright and though Billie didn't like him at first, he kept finding her and talking to her

Laurence Mercer (Tyler Hoechlin FC), Robert Gorham Damien ship. A non-atypical that works for the AM under the name Agent Poirot, he gets moved from DC to Boston to work with Agent Green and through that he unintentionally meets Dr. Bright. But it's through an accidental meeting with Chloe at a coffee shop that he ends up meeting Damien, who initially dislikes him and Laurence tries to keep a distance, but it doesn't quite work for the two of them

“Well…Ryan is at the rave looking as alluring as ever. Dovehas shown up and it looks like he is looking to relive some youthfulrecklessness. Speaking of youth, Cody is living it up in what seems to be hisnatural habit. If anyone is looking for a rowdy night… he’s already two stepsahead of you. The rave is definitely not the average party though. Bowman seems to be making people some money by fighting in the cage matches. By the looks of it, those fights are pretty rough. Heather has been seen eyeing the ring as well though, so get your bets in now. By the end of the night I wouldn’t be surprised to see Romi, Griffin, Elias, and maybe some otherwiseunexpected faces like Dr. Stevens or Eddie.”

But Hunter never expected Adrien to call him to Beacon Hills to help him deal with Kate Argent - the same woman who he suspected of murdering his parents.

And as upset that she was by the sudden change, Mira is more worried than hurt. If Stiles won’t tell her what’s going on, then she’ll have to find out for herself; and what better way to do that than by following the boys back into the woods?

But like they say, curiosity often leads to trouble; and for as much curiosity as she has, Kazimeria is about to get a whole lot more trouble than she’d ever anticipated.

It was pure luck that had kept Kiana Tate out of the accident that killed her mother and sisters.  Pure luck and severe food poisoning.   But really, Kiana was never sure if being the one to live made her the lucky one or not — after all, she was the one left behind.  For the next several years, it was just Kiana and her dad, and she was okay with that.  Really, she was okay with that.  She had to be.  But one day, everything changes.  A girl is found dead in the woods; Scott and Stiles start acting weirder than usual, mountain lions start attacking people left and right; and, to top it all off, she’s losing her mind.  How else could anyone explain the hulking beast that she keeps thinking she sees, or the red eyes stalking her from the edge of the forest?

MITRA CROUCH (KAYLEE BRYANT) is searching for their ON / OFF BOYFRIEND / EX  they’re called UTP and are a fifth / sixth year from UTP house. they look like CHARLES MELTON, KEITH POWERS, JACOB ELORDI, MASON GOODING, ARIA SHAHGHASEMI, QUINCY FOUSE,  UTP and applicants do not need to get in touch.

details: Mitra is the youngest Crouch child, and she is very rebellious. She is actually not the biological daughter of Barty Crouch Senior, but she doesn’t know this. Since he found out when she was 8 he has been distant and cold. This is basically the whole reason why she is so rebellious and a wild child. She is essentially trying to get her parents attention. I can see this role as being a bad influence on her, making her be even more rebellious, and generally just getting up to no good with her. Mitra is very loud about being for the light, and just generally on that side of the war, so potentially someone who is Venit Tempestas / Death Eater aligned would be an added dramatic plot point which could give some more angst. The pair are very on again off again, but do have genuine feelings for each other. Please feel free to contact be if you want to talk more about this!

details: Bellatrix is the eldest Black Sister, and heir to their side of the Black Family. Her father was disappointed in the fact he didn’t have a boy, and put all his efforts into making sure Bella is a good heir. This involves getting her the very best marriage possible. This connection would be entirely political, but I’d be open to exploring feelings and such since Bella isn’t a heartless cow. The betrothal can also be recently agreed upon, or have been something from childhood! “Do I have to choose? All the confirmed ships are very cute, although I think out of the ones we have, Micah and Orion, Rusty and Matt have been particularly cute lately when we’ve seen them around. I wouldn’t say any of them are bad for each other, I don’t have a major opinion. Favorite potential ships: Adrian and Jess, Noah and Paxton, Caden and Daniel. Least favorite potential ships: Mckenna and Noah, Axel and Cody… mostly for the stakes of heartbreak. One other college season has handed and that system one other slice of talented pupil-athletes are aiming for the subsequent diploma.

The checklist of 99 gamers granted particular eligibility for entry to the 2020 NFL Draft used to be launched by the NFL on Tuesday.

Every of the gamers granted particular eligibility has met the league's three-one year eligibility rule and has submitted to a written software in which he renounced his final college soccer eligibility. The closing date for receiving purposes used to be Jan. 17.

Pre-Gamin’: Dodgers at Cubs (9:05 CT) – Lineups, Broadcast Info, Game Thread

The Cubs are playing another late-one tonight – 9:05 CT start time – as they plan to host the Los Angeles Dodgers at Sloan Park.

Cole Hamels is starting for the Cubs tonight, and, notably, he’ll be batting eighth. It’s possible that his position in the lineup means nothing – this could make pinch hitting for him sooner a bit easier – but the other Cubs pitchers have mostly batted ninth this Spring, when they’ve batted for themselves at all. On top of that, Maddon does have a history of batting pitchers eighth, so I guess let’s just see what happens during the last week or so. Maybe Joe hasn’t decided which way he wants to go just yet.

As for the Cubs lineup, it’s looking like a very real, regular season group. Among the more mobile choices, you’ll find Ben Zobrist at second, Kyle Schwarber in left, and Ian Happ in center. The Dodgers are countering with most of their regulars, as well.

I can’t say I’ll stay up for all of this one, but I will say “Go Cubs.”

Franklin Delano Bell, age 85

Franklin Delano Bell, age 85, of Millers Creek, passed away Saturday, January 12, 2019, at Wake Forest Baptist Health-Wilkes Regional. He was born July 27, 1933 in Wilkes County to Clay H. and Grace McNeil Bell. Mr. Bell was a US Army Veteran and was previously employed with the United States Postal Service. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Jerry Bell.

Surviving are his wife, Frances Childress Bell; daughters, Kimberly Johnson and husband Chris of North Wilkesboro, Donna Smith and husband Rev. Randy of Deep Gap; sister, Sara Sowers of Greensboro; eight grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren

Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 17, 2019, at Congo Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Luke Pyles and Rev. Randy Smith officiating. Burial with military honors by Veterans of Foreign Wars Honor Guard Post 1142 will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Congo Pentecostal Holiness Church from 12:00 until 2:00 on Thursday, prior to the service.  Evelyn Taylor, 90

Mrs. Evelyn Marie Steele Taylor, age 90, widow of Vernest Elwood Taylor, died Saturday, January 12, 2019 at her home.

           Funeral services were January 15,   at Cub Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Brian Sampson, Rev. Scotty Roten, and Rev. Virgil Woodie officiating.  Burial was in the church cemetery.  

           Mrs. Taylor was born on September 4, 1928 in Rocky Mount, VA to Ivey and Carrie Lou Minton Steele.  She was a secretary at Texaco Oil Company in North Wilkesboro as well as at other businesses. She enjoyed cooking, quilting, traveling and spending time with her children and grandchildren.  She was a member of Cub Creek Baptist Church.

           In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vernest Taylor, and two brothers, Charles Robert (Bobby) Steele of Zionville and Ivey Steele, Jr. of Athens, GA.

           She is survived by one son, Edwin Taylor of the home; one daughter, Elizabeth (Susie) Harris of Wilkesboro; one granddaughter, Charly Harris of Wilkesboro; two great grandchildren, Tre` and Kassidy Lowe of Wilkesboro; a brother, Raymond Steele, and wife, Lulabelle, of Hiddenite; and several nieces and nephews.

           Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Cub Creek Baptist Church, P.O. Box 86, Wilkesboro NC 28697, or to the donor's choice.

 Mauvreen  Combs, 89

Mrs. Mauvreen Gentry Combs, age 89 of Wake Forest, formerly of Wilkes County, died Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Hillside Nursing and Rehabilitation in Wake Forest.

           Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Pleasant Home Baptist Church in the Lomax community, with Rev. Danny Bauguess and Rev. Mike Ester officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

           Mrs. Combs was born March 19, 1929 in Wilkes County to Carmel and Vallie Sparks Gentry.  She was a member of Pleasant Home Baptist Church.

           Mrs. Combs was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy Mastin Jack Combs; and three sisters, Jean Tucker, Inez Ester, and Sybil McCann.

           She is survived by two daughters, Gail Combs Uzzell of Raleigh, and Terry Combs Lopez and husband, Antonio, of  Freeport, Bahamas; one son, Reginald F. Combs and wife, Dianne, of Lewisville; five grandchildren, Chandler Minton Conklin and husband, Ronald Dean Conklin, Zachary W. Minton, Emily Combs Yeatts and husband, John, Edward F. Combs and wife, Laurel, and maria Isabella Lopez; six great-grandchildren, Ashley R Conklin, Shelby D. Conklin, John "Jack" Yeatts, Jr., Walter F. Yeatts, Clara P. Combs, and Madeline A. Combs; and one sister, Rebecca Gentry Cauthren and husband, Shelbie D. Cauthren, of Roaring River.

           In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pleasant Home Baptist Church, 162 Byrd Road, Roaring  River NC 28669.

 James Wilborn, 63

Mr. James Henry Wilborn, age 63 of North Wilkesboro, died Friday at Hospice of the Piedmont in Highpoint.

           Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, January 17, 2019 at New Damascus Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Knox, Rev. Brent Bailey, and Rev John A. Speaks officiating.  Burial will be in High View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:00 prior to the service at the church.

           Mr. Wilborn was born January 7, 1956 in Wilkes County to Charles William and Cora Alice Barber Wilborn.  James began his career at Wilkes ADAP, Inc. on June 9, 1977. And he truly lived a full life!! He called ADAP - "school" but it was truly work.  James was a member of the yard/janitorial crew. he mastered over the years - using the riding mower - even loading it on the trailer, push mower, weed eater, and the leaf blower.  He also worked hard when the crew went out to rake leaves and stack logs. James also loved working with the janitorial crew. He would vacuum tirelessly - till the job was done. James loved to work - but he also loved earning money and going to the bank to cash his check.  This was his pattern for 42 years!!! He also loved gospel music and especially the song, "Oh Happy Day".

           Mr. Wilborn was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Rufus Wilborn; and two sisters, Wilma Calloway and Janice Eller.  

           He is survived by three sisters, Billie Cuffee and husband, Lonnie, of Wilkesboro, Cora Ellen Simpson and husband, Keith, of North Wilkesboro, and Melissa Richardson and husband, Danny, of North Wilkesboro; and four brothers, Spencer Wilborn and wife, Veronica, Lawrence Wilborn, Alvin Wilborn and wife, Norma, and Clyde Wilborn, all of North Wilkesboro.  He also held a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews.

           Flowers will be accepted or memorials made to Wilkes ADAP, P.O.  Box 698, North Wilkesboro NC 28659.

  Joan  Porter, 79

Joan Huffman Porter, age 79, of North Wilkesboro, passed away Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Wake Forest Baptist Health-Wilkes Regional. She was born June 22, 1939 in Wilkes County to James Wayne and Edith Beshears Huffman. She was a member of Welcome Home Baptist Church in North Wilkesboro. Ms. Porter was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Charlie Huffman.

           Surviving are her daughter, Sharri Porter and husband Stephan Lackey of North Wilkesboro; grandchildren, Jennifer Foster and husband Chad, Ryan Lackey all of North Wilkesboro; and brother, Jerry Huffman and wife Lydia of Boone.

           Funeral service was January 12,  at Miller Funeral Chapel with Rev. John Triplett officiating.   Bill Wolfe, 84

Mr. Bill Turner Wolfe, age 84 of Ferguson, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at his home.

           Funeral services were January 11,  at Lewis Fork Baptist Church with Pastor Dwayne Andrews officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.  

           Mr. Wolfe was born January 20, 1934 in Wilkes County to Blaine James and Mary Ann Cardwell Wolfe. He was retired from Broyhill Furniture. Bill enjoyed coon hunting, working with his Honey Bees and being outside. He was a member of Elk Creek Baptist Church.

           He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife; Dorothy Marie Goforth Wolfe, an infant daughter; Sharon Kay Wolfe, a brother; Willie Wolfe, a sister; Hattie P. Wolfe and a granddaughter; Brittany Caudill.

           Mr. Wolfe is survived by five daughters; Sandra Wolfe Harless, Patty Wolfe, Susan Wolfe Ratliff and Janet Wolfe Milam all of Ferguson and April Wolfe Johnson and husband Scott of North Wilkesboro, a son; Billy Wolfe and wife Alicia of Ferguson, ten grandchildren; LeAnn Church, Jessica Younce, BJ Younce, Sydney Church, Brandon Sturgill, Miranda Carter, Kayla Burchette, Presley Caudill, Nathan Johnson and Hannah Johnson, thirteen great grandchildren; Mackenzie Berk, Skyler Kluttz, Gavin Gilbert, Trinity Absher, Hayden Absher, Jade Wolfe, Draken Wolfe, Cayden Wolfe, Ember Wolfe, Cody Burchette, Grayson Carter, Emma Caudill and William Caudill and three brothers; Willard Wolfe of Ferguson, JB Wolfe and wife Mary of TN and  Fred Wolfe of North Wilkesboro.

 Altha McNeil, 93

Mrs. Altha McNeil, age 93 affectionately known to her friends and family as "Granny" passed away after an extended illness on Tuesday, January 8, 2019.  A native of Wilkes County, NC, she and her first husband Charles Faw moved to Damascus, VA around 1947 to manage a Smithey's Department Store. She lived in Damascus until Charles died on July 1978.  She remarried her second husband Thomas McNeil in 1981. They moved to Maryland for a short period of time before they returned to Damascus. After Thomas died in 1996, she moved back to Wilkes County, NC where she lived in her childhood home until 2016.  With failing health she moved to Thomasville, NC to live with her daughter Judy until her death.

           Altha "Granny" was preceded in death by her parents; Odell and Ella Moore, a brother, Paul Moore, an infant brother, Howard, her first husband, Charles Faw and her second husband, Thomas McNeil.  Altha is survived by her children; Judy Butler (Roger) of Thomasville, NC and Eddie Faw (Ann) of Burnsville, NC. She is also survived by her four granddaughters; Christi Bryant of Abingdon, VA, Shana Holcombe of Myrtle Beach, SC, Kimberly Greene (Steve) of Cary, NC, and Jennifer Guilfoil (John) of Harrisburg, NC, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter and a brother; Jack Moore of Yadkinville, NC, a sister; Georgia Faw of North Wilkesboro.

           Altha loved her family and was proud to host a semi-annual family get together where she included family and friends from all facets of her life.  She was a warm loving person who never met a stranger and always a had a smile and a positive attitude. And most importantly she loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

           Funeral services was January 15,  at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel, 270 Armory Road, North Wilkesboro, NC  with Rev. Jonah Parker and Mr. Sid Crunk officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. prior to the service at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.  Burial will be in the Calloway Cemetery in West Jefferson, NC.

  Patsy  Johnson, 83

Mrs. Patsy Mae Johnson, age 83 of Wilkesboro passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Wake Forest Baptist-Wilkes Medical Center.

           Funeral services were  January 11,   at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Rev. Ken Boaz officiating.  Burial was in Oak Forest Baptist Church Cemetery.  

           Mrs. Johnson was born October 29, 1935 in Wilkes County to Fred Gales and Minnie Church Gales.  She was a member of Oak Forest Baptist Church.

           In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; Rex Edwin Johnson, one son; Rex Allen Johnson, two sisters; Doshie Anderson and Trilby Johnson and one brother; Carlie Gales.

           She is survived by one daughter: Ginger J. Barker, one son; Mark E. Johnson and wife JoAnn all of Wilkesboro; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.

           Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Wake Forest Care At-Home Hospice, 126 Executive Drive, Suite 110, Wilkesboro, NC 28697.

Carol  Kennedy, 74

Carol Johnson Kennedy, age 74, of Hays, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at her home, surrounded by her husband, children and family. Mrs. Kennedy was born December 22, 1944 in Wilkes County to Rev. Lester and Eulala Church Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents; and seven siblings.

           Surviving are her husband, Johnny D. Kennedy; her children, Karen Shumate and husband Gene of McGrady, Jon Kennedy and wife Tera of Hays, Wendy Porter and husband Brian of North Wilkesboro, Hank Kennedy and husband Brent Ridenour of Kernersville; brothers, Allen Johnson of North Wilkesboro, Dale Johnson of Roanoke, Virginia, Claude Johnson of Hays; sister, Carrie Billings of Traphill; grandchildren, Rusty Shumate, Kendall Shumate, Michelle Porter, Troy Porter; great grandchildren, Kayden Morgan, Kamryn Scott, Keria Hayes and Sydney Ellis.

           Funeral service was January 11,   at Miller Funeral Chapel with Rev. David Key and Carlton Johnson officiating. Burial was in the Kennedy Family Cemetery.

 Steven Anderson, 66

Mr. Steven Jack Anderson, age 66 of Boomer passed away Monday, January 7, 2019 at his home.

           A graveside service with full Fire Fighters Honors was January 10,   at Scenic Memorial Gardens with Dr. Chris Hefner, Rev. Robert Duncan, and Rev. Gary Watson officiating.  

           Mr. Anderson was born April 3, 1952 in Caldwell County to Doris June Anderson.  He worked for Lowes' Companies, Inc. and was a member of Wilkesboro Baptist Church and the Ferguson Volunteer Fire Department.

           In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Wayne Anderson.

           He is survived by his wife; Joyce Adams Anderson of the home, his son and daughter-in-law; Steven Patrick and Andrea Watson Anderson of Deep Gap, one grandson; Jackson Garrett Anderson of Deep Gap;  nephews   Captain Jerry Wayne Anderson, Phillip W. Norman Adams, 76

Mr. Norman Adams, age 76 of Winston-Salem, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2019 at his home.

Mr. Adams, a retired Personnel Director of the Fulton County Human Services Department, served his country proudly as a veteran of the US Armed Forces. He also earned an Associate of Science degree at Essex County College, a Masters of Arts in Counseling Psychology at Southwest University, and a Bachelor of Arts at Jersey City State College. Mr. Adams will be remembered as an avid civil and social activist and educator. He was awarded for his involvement with Volunteering in Service to America by US Vice President Hubert Humphrey and served on the Forsyth Board of Elections.

Memorial services with Military Honors by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1142 will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with Rev. John Speaks, Pastor V.C. Crawford, and Kenneth Turner officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 PM prior to the service at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.

Mr. Adams was born August 3, 1942 in Wilkes County to Donald and Frances Glenn Adams.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Harry Adams.

He is survived by a sister: Gyllie Edge of Maryland; one son: Dwayne Adams; one nephew: Brian Adams and two nieces: Tianna Adams and Meanna Adams; one great nephew and two great nieces; fiance' Eva Johnson King.

  Edward Ray Osborne, age 66

Edward Ray Osborne, age 66, of Millers Creek, passed away Saturday at Wake Forest Baptist Health-Wilkes Regional. He was born February 15, 1952 in Wilkes County to Roscoe Brantley and Maudie Williams Osborne. Mr. Osborne was a member of Cricket Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Joan Adams.

Surviving are his wife, Pam Miller Osborne; daughter, Amanda Hopkins and husband Matthew of Wilkesboro; granddaughters, Elsa Hopkins and Greta Hopkins; sisters, Ethel Sheets and husband Carl of Millers Creek, Claire O. Donaldson, Velma Sturgill both of North Wilkesboro; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Cricket Baptist Church with Rev. Randall Millsaps, Rev. Burl Jones and Rev. Gary Benesh officiating. Burial will follow in Mtn. Kayla Melissa Dubuque, age 25, of North Wilkesboro, passed away, Sunday, January 6, 2019. She was born March 29, 1993 in Wilkes County to Kyle Dubuque and Kimberly Sheppard. Kayla enjoyed spending times with her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Kristal Gale Dubuque.

Inbox: How Cubs could earn an 'A' for offseason

After eight years of answering fan questions about all things Indians, it's time to debut my first Cubs Inbox as the club's new beat reporter for MLB.com. I have appreciated the warm welcome from Cubs fans since announcing the change earlier this month. And, for those who may have missed it, I also wrote on my blog about what readers can expect from me moving forward. Now, on to the Inbox.

After eight years of answering fan questions about all things Indians, it's time to debut my first Cubs Inbox as the club's new beat reporter for MLB.com. I have appreciated the warm welcome from Cubs fans since announcing the change earlier this month. And, for those who may have missed it, I also wrote on my blog about what readers can expect from me moving forward. Now, on to the Inbox.

Addressing an offense that posted an 86 Weighted Runs Created Plus (14 percent below league average) across the final two months combined would certainly be ideal. That said, given the height of the Cubs' payroll before even making a move this offseason, the likelihood of adding a free agent like Bryce Harper seems slim.

Never say never, I guess, but it really sounds as though much of the lineup improvement will need to come via positive regression from core hitters already in place. That is, unless the Cubs can pry open some at-bats and dollars via trade. In that way, I'm not sure I'd be confident slapping an "A" grade on the offseason until we can see if Kris Bryant returns to form or some of the other batters make the offensive jumps necessary to justify a quiet winter for lineup upgrades.

If Harper isn't walking through the door, the Cubs' focus will need to be on addressing their middle-infield situation and bullpen. If Chicago can do that, and also get its offense back on track next summer, that would make for a successful winter.

We'll know by Friday whether Addison Russell is tendered a contract. His off-field issues aside, Chicago could definitely upgrade the 79 OPS+ posted by the shortstop over the past two seasons combined. Javier Baez can stick at short and the Cubs can find a fit for second base. Ben Zobrist or Ian Happ could slide back to that spot, of course, but the market includes Daniel Murphy, DJ LeMahieu and Jed Lowrie, among others.

Two names that could be a fit for the Cubs' bullpen -- and two I'm very familiar with from my years in Cleveland -- are lefty Andrew Miller and Cody Allen. Miller is coming off an injury marred campaign, but his reputation obviously carries weight. Allen was a reliable, versatile late-inning arm for the Indians, but he had a career-worst showing in 2018. Due to their circumstances, both relievers could come at a discount, and either would add a wealth of veteran experience.

Are the Cubs looking into signing a veteran backup catcher? I think it is necessary. -- Andres M., Socuellamos, Spain

After reading up on Socuellamos, I feel like I should be sipping a glass of Spanish wine while answering your question. Yes, the Cubs are in the market for a veteran backup catcher behind Willson Contreras. One thing I've been told is that the team felt it was lacking some veteran leadership in the clubhouse last season. That might be something that comes along with adding a veteran catcher. But if the Cubs do not find the right fit, they would be fine with going into 2019 with Victor Caratini as their No. 2 catcher again.

Do you see the Cubs being aggressive on Andrew Miller or Zach Britton this offseason? -- Zach G., Omaha, Neb.

I definitely think the Cubs should be aggressive on relievers of that type. While handedness does not matter if you acquire a lights-out arm, Chicago definitely could benefit from adding a lefty as a late-inning complement. If Brandon Morrow is healthy and Pedro Strop keeps doing his thing, that's a great end point for the relief corps, but it'd look a lot sturdier with one more experienced southpaw injected into the mix.

You covered Michael Brantley for years while covering the Indians. Do you see a fit for Brantley to be the leadoff guy for the Cubs? -- Greg K., Hartford, Wisc.

This is good. We've worked in Indians-related content in three of the first four questions. Thanks for easing me into things, everybody. Brantley would be a great fit for any team. He's quiet, but a good clubhouse leader, and played a big role in Francisco Lindor's growth as a hitter. Offensively, Brantley hit .309 last year while leading the Majors in lowest swinging-strike rate (four percent), as well as highest contact rate (90.9 percent) and contact rate in the strike zone (97.3 percent). Brantley is fine in left field, but not an elite defender by any means.

The issue here wouldn't be fit in the lineup -- teams can make room for good hitters -- but fit on the field. Brantley would need to play left. Well, that's where Kyle Schwarber has found a home. If not left, Brantley could maybe play first. Some guy named Anthony Rizzo occupies that spot. There's no designated hitter and Brantley's days as a center fielder are long gone. So, I just don't see it as a roster fit for Chicago unless the club cleared room via trade.

Welcome to the Cubs family again. I read your blog about coming back home and, man, I can't imagine what you were going through on Nov. 2, 2016. That's actually one of my questions: How did you feel during that World Series? You were the Indians' beat writer, but also a Cubs fan. -- Alex L.

I get this question a lot, but the key here is I was a Cubs fan when I was growing up in Chicagoland. After 14 years as a beat reporter, I'm not a "fan" of any one team. I'm probably more of a baseball fan than I was as a kid, especially with the wealth of information available at our fingertips these days, but I don't live and die with a team. During the 2016 World Series, I reflected back on my late Grandpa Bastian (a Cubs fan born in 1909) and his role in getting me into baseball as a kid. At the same time, my young son just saw his Indians lose in Game 7. That part was hard. For me, personally, it was just an awesome World Series to write about and an experience that created lifelong memories.
